Serving the Layton area for almost 3 decades, our love and concern for the children and families in our community are like no other. As a small facility, teachers get to know your child, tailoring their learning to put their needs, strengths, and skills first.

Kids First believe in constant improvement to ensure your little one receives the best guidance in their early years, which is why teachers hold their Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential™ and engage in continuous education. Hi there, I’m Kristin Guymon. Owner of Kids First!

Growing up, I was always around family that owned a childcare center. Here I gained priceless knowledge and insight discovering how to make early learning enjoyable, effective, and fun.

Bringing this confidence and expertise into creating Kid’s First, I have been involved with this center since 1997. Not only have I enjoyed the opportunity to step into the roles of director, manager, and even a teacher, but I also hold almost 3 decades of training and many certifications–including my NAC certification.

At Kids First, your little one loves walking through the doors each morning, greeted by the smiles, warmth, and love our family-owned team greets them with. The biggest compliment we ever receive is that each child is known by name, personality, and as an individual.

My team and I work tirelessly to ensure your child receives the care and attention they need to grow, thrive, and excel emotionally, academically, and freely.

Hi! I am Katie Martinez, Director of Kid’s First!

Growing up, I had always loved children and wanted to work in a fulfilling career where I made a difference. From taking Early Childhood Development high school classes to obtaining my CDA and NAC Credentials, my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and a Minor in Child and Family Studies, I’m now embarking on my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development.

As a working mom, I know how important it is for your child to be cared for by teachers who love them. We work daily to provide parents with peace of mind knowing their children are safe with us. I have been working with Kristin at Kid’s First for over 10 years, and this has become my home away from home. There is nothing more rewarding than watching children grow and learn.

At Kid’s First, your child is valued, loved, and cared for in a warm and enriching environment. With opportunities to grow, be curious, and play, they build essential–and lifelong–social, emotional, and cognitive skills that equip them for life.
